Benny Westreich’s practice encompasses the full panoply of transactional real estate. Mr. Westreich has extensive real estate finance experience, including acquisition, construction, takeout commitments and multi-state financings as well as complex equity/debt investment structures. He represents both institutional and individual clients in the United States and abroad in the acquisition, development, renovation, leasing, management and disposition of commercial and residential properties. Mr. Westreich has extensive experience in joint venture and participation structures, including general and limited partnerships and limited liability companies. He has represented clients on both sides of the transaction, including lenders and borrowers, landlords and tenants, developers and finance partners, and buyers and sellers.
Mr. Westreich’s clients include Capstone Advisors, CIM Group, E! Entertainment, Eagle Point Hotel Partners, Preferred Media, Stonebridge Holdings, W3 Partners and Westmount Properties. He also does a significant portion of the West Coast-oriented work for firm clients including Fifield Realty and iStar Financial.
From 2001 to 2002, Mr. Westreich was chair of the Partnership and Limited Liabilities Companies Committee of the California State Bar’s Business Law Section and was the Section’s representative on the Ad Hoc Committee on Legal Opinions. He has written articles on real estate law for several publications, including the New York Law Journal and the California Real Estate Reporter. Mr. Westreich has been selected for inclusion in Southern California Super Lawyers for Real Estate Transactions (2005–2013), and listed in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business (2009–2012) and The Best Lawyers in America (2009–2013). He also lectures from time to time. Recently, Mr. Westreich moderated the “Deal Makers Panel” at the 2011 Crocker Symposium in Los Angeles.
Mr. Westreich earned his law degree from Columbia Law School and his bachelor’s degree from The City College of The City University of New York. He is admitted to practice in California and New York.
