Neil Weinberg concentrates his practice in estate planning, primarily designing and implementing sophisticated estate and gift tax plans for large, wealthy family groups, corporate executives and professional corporations. He also supervises and handles the administration of complex decedent’s estates.

Mr. Weinberg, who is a certified public accountant, counsels family-owned businesses regarding their business succession planning issues. In this area, he helps clients develop plans for management succession and changes in ownership and control, as well as implementing mechanisms designed to shift future growth in the business to younger generations on a tax-efficient basis.

In 2003, Mr. Weinberg was named by the Law Bulletin Publishing Company in its annual list of one of the “40 Illinois Attorneys Under Forty to Watch.” He has also been listed as an Illinois Super Lawyer (2007–2012).

He frequently speaks on estate planning and business succession planning topics before a variety of business and professional groups, including the Loyola University Chicago Family Business Center and the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education. In addition, Mr. Weinberg has written articles which have been published in Estate Planning magazine and Trusts & Estates magazine.

Mr. Weinberg is an active member of the Chicago Bar Association and was chair of its Trust Law Executive Committee during its 2008/2009 session. In addition, Mr. Weinberg is a member of the Chicago Estate Planning Council and the Illinois State Bar Association.

He is an active volunteer with the Chicago Chapter of the American Society for Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, where he serves on its Board of Directors and its Planned Giving Committee. Mr. Weinberg is also a member of the Professional Advisory Committee of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago.

Mr. Weinberg earned his Juris Doctor degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 1991, where he was an associate editor of the Journal of Urban and Contemporary Law. He received a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1986.
