Mpoli N. Simwanza-Johnson concentrates her practice in litigation matters.
Prior to joining Katten, Ms. Johnson served as a law clerk to the Honorable James R. Epstein of the Illinois Appellate Court.
Ms. Johnson earned her Bachelor of Science degree, with honors, from Northern Michigan University in 2003. As an undergraduate, she interned at the Office of the Corporation Counsel (now the Office of the Attorney General) for the District of Columbia). In 2007, Ms. Johnson received her Juris Doctor degree, summa cum laude, from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where she graduated first in her class. She was a senior associate editor of the Thomas M. Cooley Law Review and served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Stephen J. Markman, Justice of the Michigan Supreme Court.
Ms. Johnson is a member of the American Bar Association and the National Association of Women Lawyers. She is admitted to practice in Illinois.
