Maureen Guilfoile concentrates her practice in financial services, with an emphasis on the futures and securities industries. She has extensive experience negotiating contracts, advising senior management on key business initiatives, overseeing supervision programs and providing counsel on changes in regulation and legislation. Ms. Guilfoile previously served as Director and Senior Counsel at Merrill Lynch Pierce Fenner & Smith Inc., where she was responsible for all futures legal matters in the United States for the Institutional and Professional Futures Clearing and Execution, Futures Operations and Exchange Floors divisions. Prior to that she was Senior Vice President and General Counsel of ABN AMRO Clearing and Execution Services responsible for all legal and compliance matters for securities, options, futures and prime brokerage.
Ms. Guilfoile recently co-authored "Potential Changes to Futures Customer Agreements: Dodd Frank and Beyond" in the Futures & Derivatives Law Report, September 2011.
Memberships and Affiliations
Ms. Guilfoile has served as a member of the Chicago Board Options Exchange and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange Business Conduct Committees and the National Futures Association’s Futures Commission Merchant Advisory Committee. She is a past president of the Law & Compliance Division of the Futures Industry Association and is currently a member of the National Futures Association's Business Conduct Committee.
Education and Bar Admissions
Ms. Guilfoile received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois and her law degree from DePaul University College of Law. She holds Series 7, 63 and 3 licenses.
