Mark R. Grossmann

Mark R. Grossmann is Head of the Chicago Corporate Practice. He represents and counsels institutional and entrepreneurial corporate clients in the technology, manufacturing, real estate, retail, parking, pharmaceutical, security and health care industries. He also represents acquirers and targets in mergers and acquisitions, as well as issuers and investors in equity and debt financings and recapitalizations. Mr. Grossmann works closely with the management of operating companies in complex commercial transactions including the establishment of manufacturing and distribution partnerships and agreements, in addition to corporate compliance issues. He also collaborates with attorneys in the firm’s Bankruptcy and Creditors' Rights Practice in representing distressed/bankrupt companies (and their acquirers) in acquisitions and dispositions, as well as corporate restructurings. Mr. Grossmann, a licensed attorney in Illinois and New York, works out of both Katten's Chicago and New York offices.

In 2010, Mr. Grossmann was recognized in M&A Advisor’s inaugural “40 Under 40 List” and was mentioned in Legal 500 United States for receiving “strong client plaudits.”

Mr. Grossmann received a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1994 and a Juris Doctor degree, magna cum laude, from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 1997. He is admitted to practice in New York (2004) and Illinois (1997), and in the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois (1997).
