During the dot-com phenomenon many traditional, service-orientated, brick-and-mortar companies, such as consultants and accountants, abandoned basic investing principles and established numerous business relationships on various levels with Internet companies. Over the last few months, several of these "high flying" Internet companies crashed and burned, and the bankruptcy experts have been called upon to unscramble this tech-wreck. This article identifies how certain service providers with an equity stake in bankrupt Internet companies will be adversely impacted under the Bankruptcy Code.
