Leah Mary Campbell is a member of our Structured Finance Practice. Ms. Campbell has experience in both complex litigation and complex commercial transactions.

Ms. Campbell’s representative litigation matters include commercial civil actions in New York state and federal courts on behalf of domestic and international financial institutions, insurance and reinsurance companies, multinational sports management companies, manufacturers, clothing designers, special purpose investment trusts and hedge funds. Her current litigation matters include a defense of trade secrets, enforcement of non-competition clause, and an action to rescind an indemnity obligation.

She has also negotiated a variety of complex commercial transactions, including structured finance, reinsurance treaties and commutations, excess insurance agreements, stock purchase agreements, leveraged buy-outs, hard asset sales, and business wind downs. Leah recently headed up a team that advised a structured debt issuance and acquisition of a energy assets.

Ms. Campbell joined Katten in 2011 from Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP, where she was seconded to work with XL Group plc, advising the general counsel’s office, reinsurance and insurance underwriters and claims departments, the investments division, and the finance group. She continued this work throughout her first year at Katten.

Ms. Campbell is a committee member of the American Ballet Theater and the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund.

She received her B.A. from Evergreen University and her J.D., magna cum laude, from Tulane Law School, where she was Order of the Coif and a member of the Tulane Law Review. She is admitted to practice in New York.
