KMZ Rosenman Listed In Top Tier Of Patent Firms
May 5, 2003
CHICAGO – Katten Muchin Zavis Rosenman has been listed by Intellectual Property Today as one of the top patent law firms in the country, according to the publication's new annual listing.
The ranking is determined by the number of patents issued by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office in the year 2002 where the named firm was listed as the legal representative. Katten Muchin Zavis Rosenman was listed with 527 patents in 2002 and was ranked 50th in the nation.
"We have focused on growing our practice on a national basis and this represents remarkable growth for a patent group that was only formed three years ago," said Timothy J. Vezeau, the founder and head of the Patent Practice Group at Katten Muchin Zavis Rosenman. "We are extremely pleased with the work that our national patent group, resident in our Chicago, New York and Washington, D.C., offices, has been doing and with the full array of patent services that we provide to our clients, including handling patent infringement litigation, preparing legal opinions on a myriad of patent issues, advising our clients on worldwide patent strategies, performing many, diverse ‘due diligence’ investigations, and preparing and prosecuting patent applications on a world wide basis."
The Firm's national Intellectual Property Practice Group, co-chaired by Floyd A. Mandell in Chicago and Karen Artz Ash in New York, has added eight new attorneys in the past year. Currently more than 70 attorneys practice IP law for the Firm, representing numerous clients ranging from individuals and corporate start-ups to domestic and foreign corporations of all sizes, as well as numerous universities.
