LOS ANGELES – Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP is pleased to announce that Gail Migdal Title, chair of the national Entertainment and Media Litigation Practice and co-managing partner of its Los Angeles office, has been named among the 100 Most Influential Attorneys in Entertainment by The Hollywood Reporter. Ms. Title is recognized in the entertainment trade’s July 25 Power Lawyers issue, spotlighting the 100 most influential outside counsel in entertainment.

The Hollywood Reporter selected its 100 Most Influential Attorneys by soliciting nominations from the entertainment community. It then supplemented the industry’s recommendations with its own research, analyzing the year’s top stories, looking at the attorneys involved, and asking the industry’s most plugged-in executives which lawyers they consider the most influential in five distinct categories: talent dealmakers; litigators; entertainment-finance dealmakers; intellectual property and tech specialists; and labor experts.

In naming Ms. Title to its list, The Hollywood Reporter noted her successful efforts on behalf of clients NBC Universal and Reveille, as well as her current work for DreamWorks in a copyright suit over the “Las Vegas” television series, and for the Sci-Fi Channel in a copyright matter concerning its “Ghost Hunters”.

"Gail is extremely bright and intuitive, has deep knowledge of the entertainment industry and truly is a pleasure to work with," says David Burg, NBC Universal’s senior vice president of litigation.

Ms. Title is well known in the entertainment industry for successfully protecting her clients’ interests regardless of the obstacles. Ms. Title's practice includes all aspects of the entertainment industry, from motion picture and television development, finance, and production, to distribution in all media worldwide. Her representation covers a broad range of legal and business issues that arise in the entertainment and technology industries, including copyright, trademark, unfair competition, contract, and business torts.

In the last year, Ms. Title has obtained outright dismissals of several intellectual property and contract cases brought against her clients, many of them high-profile players in the entertainment industry, based on her motions for summary judgment.

Ms. Title is also recognized as a leader in the Los Angeles legal community. She serves on the executive committee of the Public Counsel Law Center, the largest pro bono organization in the world. She also acts as co-chair of the organization’s William O. Douglas dinner, which raises the bulk of the money to support the Law Center. In addition, Ms. Title sits on the executive committee of the Constitutional Rights Foundation.

Ms. Title is a lawyer representative to the 9th Circuit Judicial Conference and Vice-Chair of the Magistrate Judge Merit Selection Panel for the Central District of California. She is an Advisor on Intellectual Property to the ALI-ABA Continuing Professional Education Board's Program Committee.
