Katten Offers Condolences to the Family of Gerald M. Penner

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of our respected colleague and dear friend Gerald “Jerry” Penner on January 21, 2010. A partner in the Corporate Practice in Chicago, Jerry was a brilliant lawyer, truly devoted to his clients and to all the young attorneys for whom he served as a mentor.

He will be remembered for his greatest gifts—his integrity and generous nature. As the conscience of our firm for many years, he was a leader in the drive for diversity and always stood for what was right over what was easy or expedient.

Our condolences and deepest sympathy go out to Jerry’s family. A memorial service celebrating Jerry's life will be held on Sunday, February 21, at 11:00 a.m. at the Rubloff-Thorne Auditorium of Northwestern University School of Law, 375 East Chicago Avenue, Chicago. The family will be setting up a scholarship fund at the Pathways Center.
