Katten Adds Sharon Parella as Partner in Executive Employment Practice

NEW YORK – Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Sharon Parella as a New York-based partner in its Executive Employment Practice. Ms. Parella, who concentrates her practice on employment litigation, arrives at Katten after spending several years as a partner in the New York office of White & Case LLP.

Ms. Parella devotes much of her practice to defending employers against discrimination and compensation claims in state and federal courts, federal, state and local fair employment agencies and in proceedings before the New York Stock Exchange and FINRA. She also counsels clients on employment issues related to mergers and acquisitions and significant corporate restructurings and downsizings.

Ms. Parella has particular experience in drafting and negotiating employment consulting and settlement agreements and releases. In conjunction with foreign counsel, she regularly advises clients regarding U.S. employees abroad and on the application of U.S. employment laws to expatriate employees in the United States. In addition, Ms. Parella counsels clients on issues of discrimination, employee misconduct and sexual harassment, and provides training seminars on these and related topics for senior management, executives, human resources professionals, in-house legal counsel and employees. She also regularly advises on investigations of employee complaints of discrimination.

Ms. Parella earned her B.A. from Barnard College and her J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law, where she served as associate articles editor for the Law Review.
