Katten Adds Meryl Wiener as New York-Based Partner in Financial Services Practice

NEW YORK – Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Meryl Wiener as a partner in its Financial Services Practice. She will be based in the firm’s New York office.
Prior to joining Katten, Ms. Wiener was an attorney with Goodwin Proctor LLP. Earlier in her career, she spent four years as trial counsel for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) Division of Market Regulation, investigating and prosecuting enforcement actions under federal securities laws.
Ms. Wiener regularly advises financial institutions, investment managers and hedge funds on a broad range of regulatory, compliance, securities, registration, inspection, organizational and structuring matters. She has particular knowledge in matters arising under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and represents clients in connection with regulatory examinations and enforcement proceedings. Ms. Wiener also represents clients in court and before the SEC, New York Stock Exchange and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority in connection with investigations, as well as in arbitration and mediation proceedings, defending broker dealers against claims brought by their clients.
Ms. Wiener is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, the American Bar Association’s Business Law section and the Association of SEC Alumni. She earned her B.A. from the University of Southern California and her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School.
