Jonathan Graber concentrates his practice in trusts and estates, working with a variety of clients including corporate trustees, business owners, family offices, politicians, executives, private equity professionals, real estate developers and other high net worth individuals and families.
Mr. Graber reviews each client situation comprehensively and designs individualized plans in order to carry out the client’s objectives in a tax-efficient manner. Many of these strategies include planning for the successful intrafamily transfer of illiquid assets, such as concentrated equity holdings (including the family business), collections of artwork and vacation homes, which may represent a component of the family’s identity. To ensure the proper implementation and administration of these strategies, Mr. Graber often works closely with the client’s team of professional advisors.
Mr. Graber also counsels clients in connection with their philanthropic objectives, in which case it may be suitable to incorporate one or more of the many available charitable structures, such as a private foundation, charitable lead trust or charitable remainder trust, into the client’s estate plan.
Mr. Graber received his Juris Doctor degree, with honors, from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. He is admitted to practice in Illinois and New York.
