Jeffrey L. Elegant concentrates his practice on a broad range of transactional lending, workout and insolvency matters. A significant portion of his practice is devoted to representation of publicly traded and privately held businesses and financial institutions in syndicated commercial financing transactions, leverage buyout transactions, asset based lending, asset securitizations and equipment financing. He also represents lenders in the workout and creditors’ rights areas, debtor-in-possession financings, and foreclosures.
Mr. Elegant has been involved in a significant number of industrial revenue and housing bond financing transactions serving as counsel to credit enhancers, underwriters and borrowers, as well as representing financial industry clients in regulatory matters.
Mr. Elegant is a member of the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association and serves on the Subcommittee for Commercial Financial Services. Additionally, he has served as adjunct instructor on banking law topics for the American Institute of Banking.
Mr. Elegant graduated from Knox College, cum laude, in 1976. He is a 1979 graduate of Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri.
