India Update: Are P-Notes OK or Not OK?

Recent changes to Foreign Institutional Investor (FII) Regulations in India raise a number of questions for foreign investors trying to navigate the Indian securities market. This article examines the regulatory framework for access by foreign investors to the Indian securities markets and rules governing over-the-counter derivatives in India termed participatory notes, or P-Notes.
