Imran Hayat’s practice focuses on litigation, including real estate litigation, commercial litigation, class actions and commercial purchase/sale disputes. Mr. Hayat has significant real estate litigation experience including representing shopping mall owners in disputes with tenants and cities on a variety of issues including breach of contract claims and land use-related matters. He has substantial trial experience, including successfully trying a breach of contract action on behalf of a shopping mall owner against a major supermarket chain, which included developing the trial strategy, preparing witnesses and examining witnesses at trial. In addition to his representation of shopping mall owners, Mr. Hayat has tried breach of contract/specific performance and eminent domain actions for other real property owners and public agencies, and has extensive experience in all phases of litigation, including pre-trial, trial, post-trial and appeal.

Prior to law school, Mr. Hayat was an intern and program coordinator at the United Nations.

Mr. Hayat received his B.A. in Economics and Diplomacy and World Affairs from Occidental College and his J.D. from University of California Hastings College of the Law. He is admitted to practice in California, and is a member of the American Bar Association and the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
