Heather J. Turk concentrates her practice on estate and gift tax planning for individuals, families and closely-held entities. Her practice provides clients with both conventional and cutting-edge strategies for the preservation of wealth, in each case tailored to the client's unique situation and objectives. Ms. Turk has extensive experience in the areas of trust and estate administration and fiduciary and probate litigation, and her practice also extends to assisting clients with respect to their charitable objectives, including the creation and administration of private foundations and other tax-exempt organizations.
Prior to joining Katten, Ms. Turk gained significant experience in all aspects of family law as a law clerk at a family law firm. She uses that experience in her current practice by assisting clients with premarital planning, with a focus on the preservation of family wealth and the protection of family businesses.
Ms. Turk earned her B.S., magna cum laude, from the University of Oregon in 2005 and her J.D. from UCLA School of Law in 2008. She is admitted to practice in California and before the United States District Court for the Central District of California and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
