Health Care Real Estate

Katten represents clients including health systems, university, teaching and community based hospitals, multi-specialty physician clinics, lenders and developers in a variety of health care real estate matters.

To represent providers and non-providers in health care real estate matters requires a thorough understanding of the many legal and regulatory constraints inherent in these transactions, including exempt tax, the Medicare and Medicaid Fraud and Abuse Law, the Stark Law, state licensure, certificate of need, real estate tax, and tax-exempt bond financing.
