Ford Motor Company Penalty Case to Affect Hundreds of Importers

On January 13, 2006, the U.S. Court of International Trade dismissed a penalty case which the Bureau of Customs and Border Protection had brought against Ford Motor Company. The decision of the U.S. Court of International Trade affects penalty cases in which Customs has neither acknowledged nor accepted waivers of the statute of limitations.
