Dustin Branch concentrates his practice in the representation of landlords and other creditors in chapter 11 bankruptcy cases and non-bankruptcy workouts, as well as in other matters surrounding the sale, lease or restructuring of distressed real estate. Mr. Branch regularly represents shopping center owners, managers, developers and management companies in retail bankruptcies in bankruptcy courts throughout the United States, including in California, New York and Delaware. He has extensive experience representing multiple locations in some of the largest retail bankruptcy cases in the United States, including Eddie Bauer, KB Toys, Musicland, Mervyn's, Gottschalks, Linen 'n Things, Circuit City, Blockbuster, and Borders.
Before joining the firm, Mr. Branch was the law clerk to the Honorable Peter W. Bowie, United States Bankruptcy Judge of the Southern District of California, from 1995 to 1997.
Mr. Branch is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and the International Council of Shopping Centers and has written about and appeared as a speaker on various bankruptcy and leasing issues.
Mr. Branch received his Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1994, where he graduated cum laude and was a member of the San Diego Law Review. He received his bachelor’s degree in 1991 from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Mr. Branch is admitted to practice in California and all United States District Courts in California, and has been admitted on specific cases to appear before bankruptcy courts across the country, including the Southern and Northern Districts of New York, the Eastern District of Virginia and the District of Delaware.
