Douglas G. Gruener concentrates his practice in financial services matters, and has broad experience in mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments and securities law compliance.

Mr. Gruener earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting, summa cum laude, from Case Western Reserve University in 2002 and a Juris Doctor degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2006. While in law school, Mr. Gruener was the business manager of the University of Pittsburgh Law Review and his note, "Chilled to the Pill: The Japanese Judiciary's Cool Reception of the Poison Pill and Potential Repercussions," was published in Volume 67, Issue 4 (Summer 2006).

Prior to entering law school, Mr. Gruener was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to research Japanese corporate governance at Kobe University. Mr. Gruener is conversant in Japanese. He is admitted to practice in Illinois.
