Dennis C. Lee concentrates his practice in intellectual property matters with an emphasis on patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret litigation. He has worked on all phases of cases involving a diverse array of technologies, including automated truck transmissions, hard disk drives, commercial building insulation systems and consumer audio headphones.
A registered patent attorney, Mr. Lee has also prosecuted and secured patents for a wide range of technologies, including robotic surgical devices, night vision systems for aircraft and home alarm systems. In this role, Mr. Lee partners with clients to design and implement customized strategies to create strong patent protection that transform ideas into competitive business advantages. Mr. Lee has also worked with clients to develop brands through trademark prosecution.
Mr. Lee has been active in the area of pharmaceutical patent litigation. He has experience with legal issues relating to ANDA litigations, especially Hatch-Waxman exclusivity periods, the FDA approval process and settlements involving antitrust concerns.
Mr. Lee received his Bachelor of Science degree in computer engineering from the University of Illinois, where he focused his coursework on embedded systems. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois College of Law in 2006. While attending the University of Illinois College of Law, he served as an editor of the Journal of Law, Technology and Policy and also was an executive board member of the Asian-American Law Students Association. In 2004, Dennis served as a judicial extern for Judge Der-Yeghiayan of the Northern District of Illinois.
He is admitted to practice in Illinois and the Northern District of Illinois, and is a registered patent attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago, the Korean American Bar Association and the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association.
