"Dastar" Imperils Lanham Act Claims Involving Film Credits

In Hollywood, they often say that "credit is king." Perhaps that accounts for the many cases filed each year by producers, writers and other industry professionals, claiming that they wrongfully were denied credit on a motion picture or television program under the Lanham Act.
The recent U.S. Supreme Court opinion in Dastar v. Twentieth Century Fox has thrown the viability of this type of Lanham Act claim into serious doubt. This article explains the implications that may affect future case law.
