Customs Proposes To Distribute Antidumping And Countervailing Duties To Affected U.S. Producers

On June 26, 2001, the United States Customs Service published proposed regulations to administer the Continued Dumping and Subsidy Offset Act of 2000 (the Act). Under the Act, Congress instructed Customs to distribute antidumping and countervailing duties to “affected domestic producers” to reimburse these producers for certain expenditures incurred after issuance of an antidumping or countervailing duty order.
