Chris Shannon has a broad range of experience in handling complex business and financial regulatory transactions. He represents private equity funds, hedge funds and proprietary trading funds with respect to their financial services, transactional and corporate matters. In addition, Mr. Shannon has significant experience representing private and public companies in complex business transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, leveraged buyouts, private equity and venture capital investments, recapitalizations, executive compensation and equity incentive arrangements, private financings and related general corporate counseling.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Shannon was a partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP in their corporate transactional group, and practiced with Ropes and Gray LLP in their corporate group. He was selected as a Rising Star by Law & Politics from 2008 to 2010.
Memberships and Affiliations
Mr. Shannon is a member of the American Bar Association. He also is active in numerous civic and charitable organizations, serving as a member of the American Red Cross Auxiliary Board and as a member of the E-Council for the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship.
Education and Bar Admissions
Mr. Shannon earned his JD from the University of Chicago Law School, where he was awarded a Fellowship with the Federal Defender Program. Mr. Shannon earned his BA from Salve Regina University. He is admitted to practice law in Illinois.
