Charles D. Lansden represents a diverse array of financial institutions in the structuring and negotiation of commercial mortgage loans on a nation-wide basis. Such representation includes the origination of balance-sheet loans and loans slated for securitization. He is also active in the development of a covered bonds lending framework in the U.S. and serves on the Technical Issues Working Group of the U.S. Covered Bonds Council. Among his recent publications is an article titled “Covered Bonds: a Primer” as published in the Winter 2008 issue of Carolina Banker magazine.

Mr. Lansden also conducts a traditional real estate practice, with a particular focus on the representation of landlords and tenants in the leasing of office, retail, and industrial properties.  In addition, he represents non-U.S. investors in the acquisition of property and equity interests in property owners.

Mr. Lansden is an active supporter of Charlotte-based international organizations, having served as a member of the Charlotte Sister Cities Board of Directors and currently serving on the Board of Directors of the Charlotte International Cabinet.

Mr. Lansden graduated, Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1983 and received his Juris Doctor degree, with Honors, from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 1987. He also received a Masters of International Business Studies degree from the University of South Carolina in 1997.
