Chad R. Doobay

Chad R. Doobay concentrates his practice in public finance.

Mr. Doobay has broad experience in representing issuers, underwriters, borrowers and banks in financings related to nonprofit hospitals, museums, charter schools, retirement communities and transportation agencies. He advises clients throughout the United States on issues related to disclosure obligations, corporate approvals and contract compliance.

Mr. Doobay earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Global Studies from the University of Iowa in 2000 and graduated Phi Beta Kappa, with honors and distinction. He earned his Master of Public Affairs degree, with a concentration in Domestic Politics, from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University in 2003. He went on to receive his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Michigan Law School in 2006. In law school, he was note editor of the Michigan Journal of Law Reform, served as co-chair of Michigan Law's refugee law interest group and was selected as a Michigan Fellow in Refugee and Asylum Law to work with the Jesuit Refugee Services in Lusaka, Zambia. Mr. Doobay is admitted to practice in Illinois.

Mr. Doobay is committed to pro bono work. He is a member of the Leadership Council of the National Immigrant Justice Center (“NIJC”), as well as the planning committee for NIJC’s annual fundraising luncheon. Mr. Doobay actively represents asylum seekers in legal proceedings and has worked and advised on several successful cases.
