Qualifications and Career Profile
Mr. Shannon's practice encompasses a broad range of real estate and general commercial matters, including the review, negotiation and preparation of contracts, leases, conveyance documents, easements, financing documents and other commercial documentation; general title examination and review; representation of lenders and borrowers in secured loan transactions; representation of real estate developers; representation of servicers and subservicers of commercial mortgage loans, particularly with respect to loan defeasance transactions; as well as other general commercial transactions.
Education
Mr. Shannon earned his undergraduate degree with honors in music (B.A., 1982) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was elected to the Order of the Grail. He earned his law degree with honors (J.D., 1985) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif and served on the staff of the North Carolina Law Review.
Associations and Committees
Mr. Shannon is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, the North Carolina Bar Association and the Mecklenburg County Bar Association. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America (2009–2012).
