Qualifications and Career Profile
Brad Pearce concentrates his practice in bankruptcy, workouts, creditors’ rights, and financial transactions. He represents lenders in workouts of troubled loans and structured finance transactions, lenders and unsecured trade creditors in bankruptcy reorganizations and liquidations, and buyers in acquiring businesses and assets through bankruptcy sales. In connection with his bankruptcy and creditors’ rights practice, Mr. Pearce represents buyers and sellers in the trading of distressed debt and plan securities, and has defended clients in bankruptcy and federal litigation ranging from preference actions to fraud, fraudulent conveyance and breach of fiduciary duty actions.
Mr. Pearce has also represented financial institutions and originators in numerous structured finance transactions.
He is admitted to practice before United States District Courts for the Western, Middle and Eastern Districts of North Carolina and the United States Courts of Appeal for the Fourth, Eighth and Eleventh Circuits.

Mr. Pearce is a member of the American Bar Association, the North Carolina Bar Association, the Mecklenburg County Bar Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Turnaround Management Association.
Education
Mr. Pearce received his undergraduate degree, with highest honors (B.A. 1982) from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and his law degree, cum laude (J.D., 1991), from Harvard University. Prior to entering law school Mr. Pearce was a lieutenant in the United States Navy.
