Michael S. Weisman focuses his practice on complex business litigation, with an emphasis on anti-fraud counseling and litigation. He has counseled individuals, institutions and public companies in a variety of industries on developing and implementing corporate fraud detection and compliance programs, and has significant experience conducting internal investigations. He also has successfully represented clients in regulatory investigations and fraud litigation involving a broad array of claims, including the False Claims Act, securities and commodities fraud, mortgage fraud, accounting irregularities, and misappropriation of corporate funds. In addition, he has represented clients in a wide range of matters including insurance, health care, manufacturing, products liability and general business disputes.
Before joining the firm, Mr. Weisman was an award-winning Chicago-area journalist.
Mr. Weisman earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois (1981) and his Juris Doctor degree, with honors, from the Chicago-Kent College of Law (1998). He is admitted to practice in Illinois, as well as before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
